Maine

Yeah I'm not a big fan of the pink handle but the feeder was built out of scrap material so it didn't cost me a penny, heck even the screws were reused from something else I had taken apart.

My kitchen has been taken over by my seedlings and potted plants....I'm afraid the seeds will rot in the ground with all of this rain!

Good plan. I had to restart seeds Monday as I jumped the garden gun a bit too soon. I know you sell seedlings... I might be hitting you up later! However it doesn't look like this is stopping anytime soon so I probably have the 2 weeks to start them!

Thanks to this lovely weather I'm thinking about planting some seaweed. That seems to be the only thing that might grow at this point. Would love to get the corn and pumpkin seeds in the ground but will have to wait yet another week it seems.

I would also really like to mothball the pellet stove until next fall but have it running tonight for a bit to warm things up a bit. With the cold and damp today it is no wonder my horses still have some winter coat left. Hopefully it isn't because they know something we don't.

I Think that we may have a rooster with bumblefoot:( I was hoping that someone in the Raymond area might help us out teasing it? We are so new to this, I would LOVE the help/advice of someone with some experience!
I read that we are supposed to keep him isolated in a cage...what kind of cage do you put a rooster in???

I do have some seedlings started, but most of my extras have been sold so far. What part of maine are you from? Got lots of flowers, herbs and container gardens started for sale later this season...but they are stagnant right now begging for sunlight and heat! I agree. I think that we wont get our gardens in for another couple weeks.

I've been going crazy being stuck inside! Between the nesting ( 33 weeks pregnant ) and the toddlers driving me nuts asking when the rain will stop.

I just want a little sunshine with enough breeze to keep the mosquitos at bay.

Of course today it's muggy as all heck. But I saw a tiny glimpse of the sun and hear it's supposed to really come out. I shall wait and see.

I planted sugar snap peas on 5/2 and they are only about an inch out of the ground right now. This past weekend I turned the rest of the garden over and planted a few rows of bush beans. With all the rain I don't dare plant much else. This weekend I "plan" on starting chinese cabbage, carrots, more peas, radish, beets and swiss chard. There may be others but I really want to build a real "square foot garden" I have the materials just need to pick up the compost, peat moss and vermiculite.

My little bantams are a riot to watch gobbling down all the dang slugs that are sneaking around in the grass. Oh heck they are just plain everywhere...
