Maine

We still have hatchers coming along this morning. 14 in the brooder this morning, hopefully will add a few more today!

My husband showed met he plans he has drawn up for my new coop...I was thinking I was going to be hard pressed to get him to give me another 4x6 coop. His plans are for an 8x12 coop with additional area for brooding and storage!! I was SHOCKED!!! He even made sure to add an "Anna Door" so I can go in and visit, HAHA! So, not only does this meana brand new coop with room for more chickies, it means I have the current coop empty and available for.....OH GOODNESS!!! Does he realize what he has done? Now if only I could figure out a way to get alpacas to cluck, I might be able to sneak them in

That's awesome, Anna!

Mine surprises me like that too sometimes. Happy Hatching!!

Good news for me! I (FINALLY) have my first Orloff eggs of this year. I am dying to hatch them but of course I have to work on the incubator that SO made for me first. I got some very sad news this morning before the egg helped me get my spirits up again. A really nice woman in BYC lost her whole barn and all her animals including very rare breeds and her GSD to a fire! I suggested that folks chip in and help her reacquire her stock. I guess one of her friends in FB is going to post a means for people to give money but I feel so sad for her.

Anna, if you get an alpaca I am visiting more often :)

I saw that too Ashandvine. How sad! Weird thing was I had just been on her website drooling over her barn, chickens and lawn. I believe they are on FB as Les Farms.

Hey guys.
I am looking to sell my trio of pet quality silkies. 2 hens and a rooster. I have 17 babies I hatched out from 2 breeders on this site (show quality lines) and I won't be able to keep all of them, so I'm going to start making room by selling my pet quality silkies.
I'm asking $10 for all, they will be a year old in April, both are broody at the moment and sitting on a turkey egg. They are actually good layers, I was getting about 5-6 eggs/week all winter, until they became broody.
One is a gray, the other a paint. The rooster is gray, but has rust spots on wings, so a DQ I believe. Again, they are just pets so it doesn't matter. They gray has a nice crest, beautiful blue earlobes. The paint doesn't have blue lobes.
I have examples of both hen's eggs if you were looking to hatch just paints or just greys.
PM me for more info.

the other 2 are.

GREY IS SPOKEN FOR

I'm interested but right now there is just way too much snow here. My spare/quarantine coop is buried.

Grey hen is not bearded, the other 2 are.

Yeah, I too heard about Les Farms and couldnt believe it.
Poor people, it must be terrible.

EDIT: On some personal news I was contacted with intent to offer a position in Wyoming with the Forestry service. Why not Maine!
Still its only a term position, maybe I can use it to get in the system and move later. I'll have to see the details exactly and find out what the rest of the process is. Hoping for the best.
