Maine

Cool!  I have 2 boys and they'll be all over that!  Part of their "potty training" was on the tires of my brother's "sweet ride," several years ago.  Wait until I tell them that I need their help keeping the fox away!

What a great idea! My dogs pee all around my flock's fencing - maybe that's why we don't seem to have any unwanted visitors? Good thinking :)

Its an old standby to pee in a gopher's holes to send them off and its been proven here.

Its been a rough week here with all the vomiting. The bator isn't built up and I am depressed about it, ready to give up maybe. Too many things conspire against me this year. I will have to enjoy everyone else's pictures.

Ugh. Sorry to hear about the vomiting. Don't give up yet. Things get better after February.

Ashandvine-hope you feel better! I work at a nursing home on Saturdays and my boss just called me to warn me that the Norovirus is making a run through there.

What an awesome idea. I'm sure that if I was a gopher, that'd send me packing. Gopher means different things to different people. Are you referring to the same critter as a ground hog? During corn season, I won't allow any male to pee in my house. I'm so sorry your family has been sick. I think this winter has been brutal as far as illness goes.

My mother is stayibg here to take care of pets and kids and she always does great with them, so i am not worried. However, last time i left her im xharge of the chickens i came home to one all wrapped in a towel in the house. She said its feet were cold and she broight her in to warm her up... and she was singing to it when i got here! Lol, atleast we all know where i get my love for animals now!

OMG Anna...I think we have the same mother!!

Ashandvine, when my family had a "GI bug", I found "Tension Tamer" (Celestial Seaons tea) really useful. The children liked it and it seems to sit well on the stomach when nausea is present and is better for hydration than gingerale (without all the chemicals), it has a lot of ginger in it (which is good for nausea). I'd put in some honey and lemon juice to taste.

Can someone explain just what is tested with the NPIP? Is there anyone in the Ellsworth area that does testing? I want to do some hatching this Spring and want to make sure that the chicks won't be exposed to anything.

Contact Scott DeMoranville, he is in Bradford, numbers are 659-6015 or 659-2071. Him and his wife are testers Those south of him can contact Clover Run Farm, she is a tester. She will also go north,
