I did not order the Carnival acorn squash. Johnny's has a squash named Carnival, but it is grouped with the delicatas, not the acorns, so I imagine it is different.

Our eggs are starting to pip! so far out of 24 eggs we have 13 eggs that are still good as of day 14 of candleing. there are 5 that have piped, today is day 20. Of course these are Kerry's silkies it won't be until the end of this month that I get my brahma eggs.

That cuckoo bird looks like a Marans. The Fav and Showgirl both have fuzzy legs! Its cute, like two Las Vegas chickens!

Echo, I am about an hour from you I think. Depends on where in Appleton you are. If I head up to Augusta and then out Rt 3 it might not be that long... not sure.

I'm not sure they're "your" houdans, but both were early hatchers and very vigorous.

I have 5 healthy chicks, and one slightly weak one right now that just hatched in the brooder. In the incubator a chick just hatched with what looks like its brains exposed. Not looking good for that one.

Holy crap brains exposed! we had one that hatched and it would not stand. We had to make a little hoop for it. 3 days later it was walking but we called it the drunken sailor. 1 month later she walks and runs just fine.

We got this coyote on our trail camera a few days ago along with some coons and crows. A little while back there we had pics of a fox. This is the first picture of the coyote in the daytime.

I can't wait for tomorrow morning. I think it's fun and exciting to see the deep snow drifts and walking around. It always looks so clean and it's nice to see new animal tracks.
