cyndischicks: Green Mountain Feeds (www.greenmountainfeeds.com) is also the #1 organic food recommended by MOFGA. Others are available and i have used them and thrown them out. Green Mountain has a dealer locater on their website.

Some more pictures of the progress I've made. Of course, with the rain I've been stuck indoors. That's okay. The beauty is in the details, right?
My wood burned plaque of the Golden Girls for the front of the coop beside the door.

The front door, view from the inside. I'll be honest, the back door is not nearly as fancy since I'm the only one who sees it. The outside of the door has a mini door knob and it's painted to look like a paneled door.

Oh geez! Funny.

I had a small surprise. I conceded defeat to my lethargy and tried taking a nap. When I made one of my 'checks' I found it pouring outside and I had small birds in an outside brooder. Well, that was the end of that nap. In they came to be dried by towels, paper and machine. Phew.

We got the new coop painted- three sides anyway. Cedar posts coming and then I have to buy wire. Anyone have suggestions for who carries wire at reasonable rates? I was planning on building the coop into an A frame that I can cover like Echo's mom or someone did to create a winter greenhouse for them. I loooove that idea. They will too if the grass stays at all green.

I had this happen yesterday. My mama & chicks were in the tractor only half was covered with a tarp. Unfortunately I was at the ER with severe stomach pain when the weather hit. When I got home at 8pm--mama was soaked from keeping the chicks covered. The rain must have come in sideways because the whole place was soaked. DH & I got chicks and mama back in the coop. I went back out with towels. Everyone seems fine today! I was so thankful I didn't put them out in the tractor today especially when I woke up to the torrential downpour today.

Awesome pictures!!

Well I'm getting pretty excited, the girls will hopefully be moving this weekend from the dining room into their new house!! That is if we can get the metal roof on there in between the rain drops! Below is a picture of their new dwelling almost done and some of my girls!

I think I have a couple of roosters not sure since I have never had these before!

The close up by the waterer looks like it could be a roo.
