Just had a light dusting here. Then rain showers. Still a cold, raw day though. I have my tarps ready to put around the coop area and some of the pen. Just have to get motivated to do it. And I have at least picked up some insulation for the horse water tank.
Stupid turkey trick of the day. I opened, or tried to open, the garbage can that holds the bird food. As soon as there is a gap one turkey jumps up and sticks his head in to get at the food. Then another turkey jumps up on the cover that then slams shut on the neck of the first turkey, So I have one turkey flailing about since he could not get his head out of the trash can and the other one refusing to get off the lid. Too a few seconds but I finally shooed the second bird away and was able to free the first one.
Both birds were fine but boy are they determined to get at that food. They are worse than the dogs when it comes to feeding time.
And to make things more fun today I took three of the dogs with me while I ran errands. While I was in Market Basket, great store by the way, the dogs decided that my water bottle was a new chew toy and one of them chewed off the top. Another crunched and aspirin bottle but fortunately did not get at the aspirin. They also ripped apart a couple plastic bags and spread my work stuff all over the truck. I then took two of them, the Pit and the Ibizan, into Pet Smart. They acted liked out of control children in a toy store. The Ibizan decided that another dog looked at her the wrong way so she barked ferociously at the intruder. Both dogs had to sniff every treat. Then the Ibizan spotted the birds and small animals and wanted to go see them. I said no and we finally were able to check out and go back to the truck. Normally they are well behaved but today they were just so wound up for some reason. Of course now all the dogs are relaxing as calm as can be in the house.
