I also bought rose bushes at Mardens.  I bought 2 earlier, and potted them.  One is doing fine, the other one got chewed down to a little stick nub by one of my cats.

Got the lumber primed for the new chicken tractor.  The final dimensions will be 6 x 7, with skis on the bottom, and lawn mower wheels on the back.  It will be covered with 1" chicken wire, so will have to stay in the electronet fenced area to make it more predator proof as I don't trust chicken wire at all.

Hubby is rolling plans around in his head for the new coop/storage building.  If we make it big enough to store the lawn mowers/troybilt, garden carts... it may end up being about 12 x 16.

Widgett:  I do hope that Apollo does not practice his crowing at 3 AM.  Perhaps you need to get him a nice mellow sounding set of wind chimes, so he can work on that instead.

Baby chickies have been getting an egg every morning for the past 4 days or so.  The first 2 days, they were very cautious about it...  this morning, they were on top of it before it even landed.  so I ended up giving them a second one just so they could all get some.  Hubby says there's something very wrong about chickens eating eggs!
my chickens love eggs lol!!!

So I hatched only 2 out of 20. 15 were shipped eggs and nothing :( The 2 that hatched were mine so that makes it special

Decided to go with the auto Turner to see if this makes a difference. ..as well as keeping daily notes. I've done nothing but read and reread everything I can find. Definitely disappointed as shipped eggs can be costly. I know that they don't hatch as well either... but I'm gonna keep trying. ..in the meantime herr is my new cuties...

The cute little black one was the 1st to hatch and the smallest of the 2. He is falling asleep leaning against one of the silkies. My DD named him Fluffed Nutter and thinks it is a "he" lol. He is black with traces of white and blond eyebrows lol!!! My roo is a Buff Orp

Omg!!!! Was just about to go to bed and heard a noise. ..eggs are rolling and chirping! !!!!! Yeah! !!!! 11:15pm...yup no plans of going to sleep now...ughhh wish I wasn't working tomorrow! !! So want to wake up kids!!!! Woke up DH...he rolled over smiling and back to snoring lol!!!!
So exciting!! When we had chicks hatching in the coop, I actually laid on the floor (on top of old feed bags) in the coop near the broody to hear the chirping from underneath her.

Very cute! Congrats on the two. That is sweet that they were your eggs!

Unfortunately parrots mimic sounds they find interesting. Usually the louder and more annoying the better.
Quailtrail~ I love the easter basket photo! Aww, so cute.

Widget you have a parrot too! Do you have a name for your farm?

Someone was talking about peonies not blooming. I have 5 peonies. I love them! One of them I have had for years and years no blooms, with plenty of dark green foliage . It's planted to the right depth, gets enough sun, nothing. I think I bought it as a root stock from maybe walmart or mardens. Some place cheap. I hope this is the year it finally blooms. I have no idea what the flowers will look like.

Anya, you might try giving it a foliar feed of Epsom salts as soon as it breaks ground. (2 tablespoons in a gallon of water, spray the growth very well...) It's obviously missing something. Do you give it much in the way of fertilizer? It's also possible that it's getting too much nitrogen. Some of the old timers talk about giving their peonies a shovel full of well rotted manure. If, after the bloom season this year, it still hasn't performed, I'd rip it out of the ground, divide the crown... basically assault the lazy bum, and see if that jolts it into a bloom next year.
