Thats pretty!!
what color turkeys?

i have a bunch of eggs in the bator
due 4/25

Well I have turkeys, too. Mixed "heritage" breeds. However, my remaining female turkey has been broody since I don't know, August? No, I'm not kidding. The two toms are jerks much of the time. If I had a larger scalder this wouldn't be an issue.

I also have mixed "heritage" guineas. Brains not included.

And turkens. Mixed turken, mostly the bow tie kind.

And one of these days I will find out if any of the 3 ducklings I got are male, if so I will be able to supply pekin hatching eggs to anyone, as well. 5 years ago I had 4 males and a female, now I can't get a male to save my life. Or save the pekin line.

I should have done the hatching for you. I have an excellent record for all-male hatches. Even though I miss it, I am not hatching this year. Plenty of roosters in the freezer...

I don't ship the eggs, too expensive. The turkens are all mixed breeds. Some are all black, some are all white and most are in between. Besides 7 turken roosters I also have a pure Java rooster (he's huge) and a pure oh boy... what is he... chantecleer? something like that. He's pretty big, too. I had plans to mix them over my dark cornish hens, but those hens are so broody I can't time it right.

Any of you near Clinton? I have at least 1 easter egger rooster I need to get rid of. Its 8 weeks old this Tuesday. Was trying to sell for 5 bucks but this time of year no one is interested.

I'm in Vassalboro and in about 6 weeks I'll be processing my excess boys. You can bring him over and I'll help you do it.

It's been awhile since I've checked in. I recently lost 4 of my girls to a weasel. Fixed the tiny hole it got through. Looking to add some more girls to my flock. I'd prefer young already laying or about to lay. Does anyone know where I could find some here in central Maine. I was going to order from the hatchery but for 6 birds I don't want to spend $189 to ship them.

Why not pick some up at a feed store? If you don't like the randomness of TSC, I've ordered from Longhorn's in Buxton (they use Cackle hatchery) and picked up a few birds there. There are likely other feed stores that have this service, but I liked the breeds offered at Longorn. You would have to order very soon to get chicks in May, or wait until June. I think the full name is Longhorn horse supply, otherwise you get the steakhouse when you search.

19 Strong healthy chicks out of the bator. I'm pleased with this hatch! My Cackle chicks had a tracking # posted, stating that they went out for shipment at 1 AM Wed. morning. Waiting, not patiently.
awesome!! congrats!!

waiting on shipping is always the worst

I am so not impressed with USPS. My chicks sat for 12 hours before even starting their journey. Then, they were misdirected to Scarborough. Again, sat there all night long... Hoping they arrive in Hampden today, and that I am allowed to pick them up at the Hampden sorting facility. Tracking info states they are not scheduled to arrive until TOMORROW. They left Cackle on Wednesday.

The chicks made it to the Hampden sorting facility, and I picked them up there about 1/2 hour ago. One looks iffy, but they are all drinking and eating.

I will say that my local PO as well as the folks at the Hampden plant were all very responsive to my needs. My postmaster even called a few minutes ago to see If I was successful.
