Never tried it but I hear turtle stew is very delicious. Have it latch on to a branch and then take the head off with hedge trimmers. There's instructions for stewing online.

We've been making garlic scape pesto. Yum.
Strangely, we have not seen many cucumber beetles. There have been a few on the potatoes, but they haven't discovered the squash hoop house yet (they'll be there tomorrow, now that I've said that). I've squished 8 potato bugs and crushed some egg masses.
I had a tick yesterday after walking in the woods.
Picking ever bearing strawberries (and a few June bearing) each day.

i LOVE garlic scape pesto!! :drool
and we've been immensely enjoying the wild strawberries, they are HUGE this year

Just checked my field, hard to find them but we have scapes too... grass is making it real difficult to find them.

All the plants look great, no sign of pests yet, except the ticks... I can bring you some if you're lacking @superchemicalgirl.

I'm falling behind on hilling taters and now getting the scapes, if not one thing its another. Spent my afternoon yesterday getting this guy to the wildlife place without making a mess:

Thanksgiving birds also arrived today, fingers crossed on the new military-grade brooder.

Do a close up inspection of the "cucumber beetles" on your potatoes. I think you will find that you have an impostor.

This is a cucumber beetle. Look at the second image:

I was truly stumped at what I was seeing, until I did a google search! Nasty creatures, and IMO, worse than the potato beetle because of the slime factor. Note the larvae covered in excrement in last pic on right, second row.
