Seven baby's hatched out. Not sure if last 4 have a chance. Thought they would hatch Wednesday or Thursday. Maybe I didn't remember exact day I put them in. Now I have 4 eggs I have no idea if they will hatch or how long I should keep in the incubator.
I can tell who a few of the mother's are just by looking at the babies. 3 have Honor's coloring from when she was a chick and one has to be from Leia due to being so dark. I think that one is also the offspring of Jules.

I have 2 huge apple trees on my property. I know they are in serious need of being pruned. Planned to do that this fall. Now I am going to be recovering from double hernia surgery around that time.
One of my black Australorp has started laying. Got 5 eggs today.

i hope you heal quickly and dont over-do it again!

Got some advice about early hatches. Thinking all 7 of mine were early hatches. 3 of them were having a difficult time hatching. I know your not supposed to help out but I'd not seen a lot of progress in many hours so I gently helped a little bit so that they could get the top off.
Of the Last 4 I tried to candle and could se a clear air sack on one but couldn't see anything at all in the other 3.
Not sure what to do at this point. Hatch day I was pretty sure was supposed to be tomorrow or Thursday. Guess I will at least wait until Thursday and possibly try and candle again at that point. Looking a bit grim for those 4 but happy with the 7 I did managae to hatch and they are healthy and doing fine.
About to move them over to my brooder pen in the basement instead of the cadrboard box with heat pad they're in now.

Mmm, I've never raised any of our birds from eggs, but let me talk to my husband. If we can figure out an incubator/brooder that would be fine. Are you okay with only selling two?
