Maine

Widget,

No problem with roos or goats. I have been searching the town website and found that our house is in a CR2 zone- farm use is permitted. If you guys would like to see it the address is 81 Old Bath Rd, Brunswick ME

Yes, I will be driving to Scarborough for work, but I already dive 50miles 1 way to work, soI'm used to it. Luckily, my car gets 38 MPG on the freeway, so it won't be too bad. I'm so freakin excited......

You'll be right up the road from a great Maine institution... Fat Boy’s Drive In! http://watershed.wordpress.com/2006/07/19/fat-boys-drive-in/

The
best frappes in the world. You can even get a blueberry one.

Good place to grab a bite when traveling with pets. We even saw someone pull up in a convertible with a banty rooster in the car!

@ ParadisePoultry,
I am very familiar with Brunswick. I'm there running errands several times a week. You should be fine. Old Bath Rd. is considered East Brunswick. Lots of small farms. Folks in that area have Horses, livestock, etc. I rented an nice little apt. in downtown Brunswick when I was younger. Its a busy little college town. Things have changed though since they closed down the Naval Air Station in Cooks Corner. Seems they're having lots of tax, budget, & school system issues. But with the current state of the economy....who isn't really?

Good news. I know how hard it is to move cross country (Maine to Chicago at one point) and trying to find housing for people let alone animals is not easy.
Brunswick has lots going for it. Fat Boy Drive-In comes to mind.

Plenty of shopping. Close to both the Portland area as well as Lewiston/Auburn (home to Roy's Hamburgers) and the Augusta area. And the Blue Angels will be coming again this summer for an airshow at the old base. So plenty to do.
