I have white wyandottes that the mom's are blr. crossed together, you should get some blr with very good type. or if you want to wait for spring, I'll have some then.

That sounds like a pain in the butt. Its bad enough waiting in line, yet you have a choice (without their type of lines) to see which line you want to wait in, not the communist ways, lol, in a way, I'm just kidding!

Anyone in Western Maine have 1 or 2, pet quality, Polish hens/pullets that they want to sell or trade? I have just discovered how cool they are and the cockerels are so absolutely sweet, enjoy being picked up and will fall asleep in my arms!!! I have 2 guys and would trade if someone wanted a pet quality bird.

I've followed 2 leads with no luck so I'll put it out there to our Maine group. Actually I can travel to Bangor in the near future, I want to go visit my aunt that is up there. I'm also open to suggestions too.

I'm too far north of y'all. I go to the Presque Isle TSC. They don't know a whole lot about chickens it seems.....

it appears the one in waterville is a bust. It was rumored to be going into the old LLBean call center, but nothing on the outside including the "for lease" sign has changed. It might be a bit too "in town" for that location.
Tiny chicken lady it sounds like the ideal time to help educate them on chickens with a poultry swap up there (or at least in the spring).
I'm sure if central maine is any indication, chickens are going to be just as big as potatos up there.

Did paradisepoultry not work out?

Still no reply. I assume that either they haven't opened they're email lately or they don't have anything. So, I'm not putting all my apples in one basket and if someone has something, Let me know. I appreciate your help Jenn!

I think you might be right.
They didn't even know what Marek's vaccination was and I wanted to vaccinate my new hatches but I couldn't because they didn't carry it and couldn't even tell me what it was

They do sell eggs or chicks in the spring I guess so I'm going to look into what they do next spring.

There are 2 Hannaford's in Waterville, one which has adopted the obnoxious check-out lines, and one which has not. I've always tried to avoid the obnoxious one, even before the check-out system, just because I didn't like the layout of the store as much. Here, they have an employee stand there and tell you which register they want you to go to, even though I sometimes think another line looks shorter. I think the new system might be to minimize theft, but I really don't know. TJMaxx is even more annoying, with the loud computer announcement "register 2", despite the fact that the cashier is standing within speaking distance. I could go on and on...

On a more chicken related note, I thought the TSC in Waterville was still coming, but just behind schedule. At least that is what I heard from the cashier at the TSC in Skowhegan, - but that was earlier this summer. I'd love to have one in Waterville, since I work there, but it does seem a little crazy. It seems like the Skowhegan and Augusta stores would cover most of the need around here. Let's lobby for a Trader Joe's in the call center instead!

Funny how Waterville would get a TSC when they don't even allow the keeping of chickens... However if you're looking for feed or shavings in Waterville the Aubuchon on KMD sells it, and they're really nice and knowledgeable. They even sell chicks in the spring.

I have to agree! I only buy my chicken feed and most supplies from there...there is a lady who works there with the nickname "chickenlady" lol! The customer service is outstanding and they know a lot about what they carry! The lady mentioned that she would like to have chickens right there on location next spring...I was very impressed with them from every aspect!!
