Maine

Part of the problem is I am sitting here trying to read a book on filing taxes with my daycare........I would rather pull my eyelashes out one at a time!!! I AM NOT a numbers girl!!! This is boring me to no end!!! So up I go to peek at the bator again.....and again......................................

.............and again!

I have 3 runner drakes that I think I need to get rid of, my poor ducks are missing feathers on their heads sad.png

I have 5 ducks per drake in my chocolate runners and my cayugas and that was fine but my other flock of fawn/white runners merged so now I have one huge flock and not sure what to do. They are so nice and I couldn't bear for them to be eaten so maybe I will have to make a bachelor pen? has anyone done this with ducks? I have done it with chickens and it only lasts a year or so before someone starts beating up everyone else, will the drakes be ok with just 3 of them if there are no ducks? ideas?

I have a friend who has only drakes. She has 4 or 5 so far.
She doesn't want loud ducks, or need eggs, but likes ducks.
She has an easy time adding great guys to her flock, too.

You may want to try the duck forum, if you want more re-assurance.
I have no bachelor pad, but I have heard many examples of them working wonderfully for people.

I'm so glad my sister does mine, I'd be pulling out my hair otherwise.

Well it looks like a no go on the school allowing my co-workers wife to hatch out some eggs. Of course now that I'm posting that they will change their minds. Thank you to all who offered to help out. Gotta love the people on this list.

But now that my incubator is empty and gathering dust I would love to have some eggs to hatch out. I blame everyone else on here who is hatching. I feel left out.

So if anyone has some eggs available, even bantams breeds since I think they are great, let me know and maybe we can work out a deal. Would prefer some that are relatively local since there is no way I can justify traveling too far with gas prices the way they are.
