Major trouble raising POLISH chicks PLEASE HELP

Show us a picture if you can.

Good job caring for your chickens.
Pecking is a constant issue.
Gluing carpet on their heads might fill in the "POOF" ?
Sorry she lost her crest. It will grow back.
That is a very pretty White Crested Black Polish by the way..
Her eyes have a bright look, and she shows that she loves you.
Nice crest too. Where did you get this chick?
It has a good pedigree.
I got my Polish and Sultans from McMurray, and I think Murray has deals with other breeders to suppy them.
Nobody can handle 30 or 90 breeds in a hatchery.
Not to wander off topic, I was just wondering about the European Polish being different. What about Turkish Sultans?
We should compare breeds from different continents?
That would be interesting as well.

I have a one week old white crested black polish and a week old white crested blue polish, and they pick each others head feathers, I thought it was just them helping to groom each other???? Should I be worried???? Also my blue ie smaller than my black?

Hello again,
I was curious about the differences( if any), that anyone knows that can be found between American varieties of Polish, French or Turkish birds we see in USA, and their relatives, the European birds of the same type.

A little off topic, but it would be interesting to know about if "Super Pure" breeds are still in European towns.

Good job fixing the pecking.

there are no hatcheries in UK so hatchery quality wont be found

so yes super pure as you put it is available by the very determined breeder

and then the other breeders that breed to sell will sell from a parent line that is of very good quality but will sell all chicks regardless of SOP

like for example my chick is a white crested black

it looks very nice but the crest is not completely white

where as this European bird is and won 1st prize

Oh no...

I'm sorry.

They are fine birds, just very delicate.
Polish and Sultans are born like Bantams, so tiny that life is precarious at best.

I think it was something else that it died from. I would have avoided spraying its head with anything, but that is my choice.
Sometimes chicks up to a few weeks old just die. I lost 2 last night out of about 130.

Remember the love that you gave that chick.
She loved you.
