I used the 4" PVC sewer street elbows, they call them 'long' but they are far from long... Also not to be confused with common Schedule 40 PVC pipe or elbows... 4" sewer PVC is about 3.25", smaller and thinner then 4" PVC Schedule 40...

Note these 'sewer' fittings are NOT with the rest of the PVC in most big box hardware stores, they are generally in another drainage isle or out in the outside garden area... Look for green colored drains or the big 4" rolls of black crinkle tubing, these elbows are probably in that area...

Search Lowes website for '41P0ST' Or you can Google that part number as well but shipping will kill you...

Thanks for the info!! I'll have to try looking outside

If you have a local Lowes and a smart phone, install the Lowes app and set your local store, then search for the above item number and it will tell you the exact isle and bay they can be found in, then click the Isle/Bay image that is displayed and it will pull up a map of your exact store pointing you directly to it... No searching the store :)

Wow really? That's so amazing!!! I'm definitely gonna do that!! :)

Do you guys just use regular 90 degree street elbows or the double cuffed ones or long sweep or what?

I found my 3" elbows among the normal plumbing pvc parts, maybe 3 bucks each? Mine had the flange only on one end like in the instructions on the first page of this thread. I cut off the wide part and put that end at the bottom of the container, stuck the skinny part through the hole and then put the wide bit on like a cuff from the outside. I did trim the top of the inside end off at an angle to help the feed fall down, it was getting stuck. I also used a grinder wheel to smooth off the sharp edges from cutting and glued the gap with 100% silicone (I used a utility knife to cut the holes and didn't do a great job).

Thanks for all the details and help! :) i might buy a couple. And do you think the silicone is a good choice? Just don't really know about glue or anything

Exactly what I did, but then I stopped there. If you use a 3.5" hole saw the "skinny part" will fit perfectly and the flange fits over that so tightly I didn't use any glue or anything. I have to work to get them off so there's no way the girls are going to work it off there.

@huskerhens is right, you don't need glue or anything to keep them in place, if you are careful cutting your holes the pvc will stick in tight even if you have a couple gaps around like I did. I mostly used the silicone to make it water tight all around because sometimes when the wind blows I get some splashing. Just make sure you get the 100% without any of the fungicides and other poisons they put in for use in bathrooms.

That makes sense! Thanks for the help :)
