Making a diy duck waterer

I want to make a duck waterer so I don’t have to constantly re fill a tub that they can swim in. I’m still going to give them a tub to clean themselves off but I want them to always have clean water. How can I make one with a bucket and these poultry water cups. What else would I need?

That will not work for ducks. They need to be able to stick their whole heads in the water to clean out their nares and their eyes.

I just use a laundry soap bucket that is just the right size for my runners. I provide a little step to each waterer and they just about turn themselves upside down in it but the buckets don't get tipped over. You can see my little runner's got almost her whole long neck into that bucket in the middle of the picture.

That is what mine are for too. Not for swimming in that little bucket. Just drinking water that gets changed out every night.

As they eat they take a few bites and then run to the water buckets then back to the food bucket and so on. They need to be able to clear out their nares often especially while eating.

Ok. How would I be able to create something where only there heads can fit so that they don’t dirty their drinking water in 10 seconds?

well, if you find out the answer to that please let everyone know! As they eat, drill in mud etc they are going to run to the water dish and muck it up no matter what you do.

Ok. I just want something that they can only get their heads in so that they can’t swim in that so it will be cleaner
