Making/ Buying a Light on a Timer for the Chicken Coop in Winter!

O.K I have a dilemma that I need some help with.

How can I make or even what can I buy so that my chickens can have light in their coop for Winter so they lay more eggs.

This needs to be done Without electricity as there is no way I can get electricity to my coop.

I am absolutely stumped, I have searched YOUTUBE all day on "How To's".lol. To no prevail.

I honestly don't see how you are going to accomplish additional light in winter without electricity. We run a long extension cord out to the coop, it could be plugged into a timer to turn on and off at certain times.

hmmm...Yeah, I have figured out I can get a solar panel and connect it to a storage thing.lol. Then run the light and timer of that!

I just need some ideas. If ANYone has any!

Some people have mentioned battery operated led string lights. Search the forums for "LED battery lights" for information.

Even ask at somewhere like BCF. (Boating camping fishing) Look for solar camping light sort of like this but one that you can use with a timer. Campers must need similar things.

This would not be very weather resistance, do you think?
Ash told me to go for at least a 20 watt panel. This one is 1 watt.lol.
Do you know how bright it is and if it can be connected to a timer?

No idea just first one I found on google, just thinking it may be worth a trip to somewhere like BCF to see if there is anything in the camping department you could adapt to your needs?

It's doable. I looked at it before but didn't finish the planning once I figured out the costs for what I thought would be a simple light.

If you stay DC only, you'll need a low wattage light fixture/string/bulb and a DC timer (low power drain) connected to a battery. The battery will need to be set up for solar charging with a charge controller and solar panels. Then, you'll need to determine how many hours you want to add lighting. 2-3 hours / night would work from a timer. If you want all-night, then a dusk-to-dawn type system would work but I wouldn't recommend it due to added costs of battery and solar panels. If you go AC timer and AC light, then you'll need an inverter.
