making cloth reusable menstrual pads

I just filled a special order for a set, all dark tops and I made the bottoms dark as well.

I don't know about finding black, but any real dark colors will work. I made them with light backs thinking of them not showing as much through light panties.

they are greate for heavy flows.

Hahaha slip them in the wash all secret like huh?
You know how the old biddies talk about it being tacky to hang your underwear out on the clothesline? My girly pads are out there too. But I doubt many would know what they were. Still, it's pretty obvious that they aren't socks/towels/undies/shirts/etc. so WHAT are they?????

I do rinse mine out and dry them over the shower rod between loads of laundry. Kinda like washing them twice I guess.
I wash everything together, yes, even towels. My rinsed out pads aren't as bad as hubby's work clothes....

Well, I've tried them and loved it! No smells and no "riding up or back" and it holds the flow pretty good.

Drdoolittle, don't knock it until you try it. Its like eating a mystery candy until you know if you like it or not. I, too, had my doubts and got over the grossness factor by saying, it is only natural that the body expels something it does not need. I'd take menes anytime than vomit.

Yep. And I found a way to save on line space too. I take each pad and clip the fastener to the fastener on the next pad, so it makes a long line of them and then I only have to hang one. If you have tons of line space you wouldn't need to do this but I have a retractable clothesline that barely holds a large load of clothes, so I am always looking for ways to conserve space on it. In the winter when I can't hang out, I clip them to one another and hang them over a vent, or put them on a space heater set on a low heat.

I don't find the idea gross at all. I think once I have some money I would like to buy some for me and my daughter. We both suffer from auto immue type illnesses so regular ones often bother me. My daughter just started so , thus far not sure if regular ones bother her yet.
So may i ask a question ? How many should one have on hand for one cycle ?
Where can i buy some next month or so when I have some cash ?

just pm me when you want to order.

depending how often you do laundry, think 3/day in descending size for how long your cycle lasts. if you do laundry often you don't need as many. I would personaly want two complete sets of 12 so wouldn't run out.
