Making New Dog Breeds

There really hasn't been a lot of "creating" of new breeds from scratch, per se. When AKC/UKC recognize "new" breeds, they're actually just recognizing some from other parts of the world that have been around for a long while. It puts it into perspective to know that the UK recognizes roughly twice as many breeds of dog as the U.S.

Our biggest show is Westminster, averaging an entry of 2,500 dogs. Crufts, on the other hand, averages an entry of around 25,000 dogs!

I am a shelter worker and I often (just yesterday) pull death row dogs from other shelters to re-home at my shelter. I am bummed I missed this who subject. Don't get me started!!

We got our aussie/heeler mix to keep it from going to the animal shelter. That and my wife fell in love with her when she seen it. First thing we done was have her spayed.
