There really hasn't been a lot of "creating" of new breeds from scratch, per se. When AKC/UKC recognize "new" breeds, they're actually just recognizing some from other parts of the world that have been around for a long while. It puts it into perspective to know that the UK recognizes roughly twice as many breeds of dog as the U.S.
Our biggest show is Westminster, averaging an entry of 2,500 dogs. Crufts, on the other hand, averages an entry of around 25,000 dogs!
