Making the most of it.

Day twenty with the eggs. All I can think about is the mishap on Sunday with all the kids in the house and going to lock down a day early cause I miscounted and thought it was a different day. No pips or anything going on but I have time yet...
One thing I can say is I have learned a lot. There are improvements on the incubator that I will make for next time. So hopefully within the next couple of days I will have good news to share.
Did you candle and cull the clears on day 18...or whenever you did lock down?

I read it was best to do an eggtopsie in a ziplock baggy.. So I'm gonna grab some today just to be prepared. If they don't hatch I want a general idea of when they quit so I can guess as to why.
Best to go in thru the air cell when eggtopsying.
Doing it in a bag is pretty awkward, can't really open it as easily and cant' see too well, but they can be stinky.
The longer you wait to do it, the stinkier they can be.

If you have to do eggtopsies, do them outside. Have your hole already dug, and you can toss them into the hole when you're done. Wishing you the best with your hatch. Any chirping egglets yet???

Oh, Absolutely, do them outside....one of those things I forget to mention because it seems to obvious.
