Mine are 4 wide 5 deep but 4x4 would be fine for you as yours grow from breeding. Keep the biggest and best few out of each hatch and cull everything else

I have that exact same problem. I'm in Texas, out in the country. We have a creek that runs along two sides of our property, so we get a lot of wildlife passing through. The yard is fenced off, but that doesn't stop the climbing critters.
