My first babies that hatched from a hen and roo that we got from the famous Jerry. These arent going anywhere, he has the coolest colors. I tried to get his sheen to show up on the camera but it wouldnt.

Here is Jazz and Austin

Jazz's Wings. They are loaded with areas that have a lot of sheen to them.

Both are some of the calmest Serama we have had.

Very pretty colors, Abby! Although I love the variety of Serama colors, I enjoy it when something recognizable shows up. Lovely little wheaten pullet, is what I mean. At the Ohio Nationals this year, the SCNA is awarding a special prize to the pair of birds shown by one owner of an APA/ABA recognized color. That means they're picking the best wheaten pair, or the best blue pair, etc.... I don't know if white is included or not, because they have had their own recognition already at shows. Chicks hatched in May or earlier will be old enough to show in this class, so keep an eye on what you have! So far, I have a wheaten SQ pullet, and that's it.

Most of my birds' colors are spoiled (in a good way) by mottling.

Can you put him down and pose him for us? They tend to "melt" in your hand! BTW, I'll bet he was a hit at your 4-H meeting!

He was a big hit. When we got there all the little kids surrounded him, lol. Heres him posing its the best hes ever done.

Thanks

I think you got a show bird! He needs to work on his confidence, so he stands up straight. That means bringing him into the house to interact in daily life, the cat, etc., bringing him to pet stores (where they're welcome), and lots of 4-H meetings! Also, get his feathers into condition. Pluck any really ragged ones (hold skin down at the base of the feather and pull hard and fast), and give him the right cage/pen. Tyler (Briarpatchbantams) does a fantastic job with his birds, and he keeps them on plastic coated wire, I think. He's really cute!
ETA: the bird. Sorry, Tyler *blushes*

We are so hoping to be able to at least go to the next Ohio Nationals. Never been there. The little wheaten hen is just a doll. They are just starting to pose so pictures are still hard to get. They are more curious about whats happening around them and pecking at everything!

Got new pictures of my trio! I mean the two hens.lol. Skipper was getting too worried when he couldnt see his girls, so he wasnt standing still. But he is still young and we are working on that. But here are the pictures...What do you think of them?

(They are a February 17th hatch)

And sorry about the look of their wings. I just got them out from their pen and they are a bit ruffled. But they are not normally split looking like that

Doodle: She usually put hers head back a bit more and her chest out, but better pictures will come. I will get the good camera out tomorrow where the lighting is better.

Ellie: She is a bit shy when it comes to pictures, she tends to sit, but she didnt sit as much in this one. So she is improving

Are those Seramas grown?

They don't look full grown to me.

Could somebody show me a picture of a grown serama in your hand or next to a standard chicken? Thanks -
