I've been thinking about this for awhile, since I'm not familiar with chicken dances...
The first time Zombie bit me, I reached my hand in the cage and he just bit. The same with the white cull bird in with him, and a rather handsome colored cockerel in another "grow out" pen. But Zombie has been sort of approaching me oddly, sideways-ish. Is this what you mean?

It's starting to annoy me, because Zombie used to perch on my shoulder or head, and was the most responsive of all my birds. *shrug*

I also have two other cull birds that escape their pen, follow me around like dogs and nip at my clothes...but it isn't a BITE like Zombie was giving me.

Will those hatch?

None of them had yolks. I used a syringe to suck the white out.

So i am looking into getting a pair of Serama, but they are C's, will this be a problem using them to begin a breeding program? What are your thoughts? They have great type and color!

You can expect a certain amount of A's and B's even out of a C pair, but you may have to hatch a bunch to get more useable ones. I think breeding sons to mothers, and daughters to fathers can help you scale down your birds too.

The C's seem to be more fertile anyway. I'm hearing (and now discovering) the small ones have more reproductive issues.

If you like the type and color I say get 'em. Of course, I always say get 'em...

Always happy to enable....

I should have added that you will likely get mostly C's and even a few D's.... But hey, if they're a good price, have good color, and good type, it's not a bad idea.

At least that's the approach I'm taking!

Thanks SilverPhoenix, the laced cocoapop silver duckwing coloration is the main reason I decided to chose serama over oegb when I first started out. I will let you know if I have extra on that color in my second batch are almost 2 months old now. As you can see, his dad does not have as much laced on the chest as he is.

Thanks for advice Austinhart123 but I want to stick with the cocoapop color only, so my plan for next yr is do a brotherXsister and a daughterXdad. I think that is the only way to weed out the unwanted genes and also to reduce the size.

Here is another pic that I got of the smallest guy in my bunch of chicks. In this picture all I did was place him on the mat, and bam he did this. He loves to pose, and he has the look at me attitude. And plus he is too sweet, just like his daddy! I would love to have opinions on him, he is not quite 6 weeks old. Too bad in the picture I didnt catch him with his tail straight up. I got it a bit too late..
