The Twins ~ One has more Silver feathers and one has more Buffish colored feathers. It hard to tell...but their is a tad bit of differents in the feather colors.

I still haven't named one of these sweeties...I just can't think of the right name for'em.

I love the color on these. Soooo cute!

I need some opinions. I traded one of my Roosters for 2 hens today. I had more roosters than hens and needed to balance things out. So, I picked out a couple of black hens. I had been looking for black hens or a rooster for a bit so I was really happy to find these 2. They're not as vertical as they should be and could use more tail spread but my rooster Blu-T makes up for that. They're a little larger, upper B size, but should be better producers and they have pretty decent chests. So, I get them home and took some photo's outside in natural light and I had noticed one was more black and had more sheen than the other one but it wasn't until I looked at the photo's that I thought there was more than a slight difference in the color. The guy I got them from did not have enough information or history to be able to help out so I'm going have to hatch some chicks and maybe later, if I get a good black rooster, see what I get. I really can't tell, is she Chocolate or not? Blu-T has some sort of dilution too, bluish, so I cannot wait for some chicks from this cross.

I don't have any information so all I can ask for are some opinions based on these photo's that I just took. The only significant difference I've noted is that the black hen has black legs. The possible Chocolate hen has swarthy, mostly dark yellow with some black, legs. I don't know the genetics of the Chocolate vs the Black leg color so maybe that will be helpful.

Edited to add if anyone wants a larger photo that may show more detail, email me and I'll send the large size photo.

Blu-T (not quite a year old yet)

I knew my silkied chick was silkied as soon as the wing feathers starting coming in around day 3. They just looked different than all the others - more stringy at the ends - for lack of a better description. Now that he is about 3 weeks old I can tell from the other feathers. I would assume the same for Frizzled. All my cochin frizzled became frizzled the first week.

Rats... I bought possible silkied and frizzled eggs but all of my chicks look the same to me. I'll keep trying.

The sun was out and I took some in the bright sunlight, hoping for more clarity for the color. I know lighting can have effect on a photo but I took these with the sun behind her to allow the sunlight to illuminate her feathers.

Here is the blacker hen, she was a lot more elusive to get a good photo.

If I could just get them to stand still, next to each other to compare.....

If she's black, that's cool (that's what I was looking for), if she's dun, that's cooler and if she's Chocolate, that is the coolest.

so anyway I look at her I am happy. The man gave me 5 eggs from 3 different pens that were extras, he had just set some, so I'm hoping hard that they hatch.

Camera isn't at home today and will get newer pics tomorrow. These ones they aren't being posed in.

Attack Chicken,
What nice vertical wings on your rooster, and good length of leg. That's a pretty lil hen too, mottled are so cool and no two alike.
