Don't want to ruffle anyones feathers here but those are Old English Game bantams (hence why the male is dubbed for show), not Seramas

Beautiful OEGBs though.

Wow really I had no idea, that pair was given to me by my brother, and I have no idea who gave them to him.
Can I ask what the difference is between the 2?

I do not know Grady but leg bands are used when I test a flock for the NPIP program in Va any ways Grady may participate in NPIP It may depend on what your state has for laws

they are some pretty birds BTW

We don't use legbands for npip here. The bands are SCNA bands and show they are Seramas from Grady's stock with the year of hatch on them. if you are sure you will NEVER sell them them, yeah take them off, if you might you may want to leave them on as proof of origination to a future buyer.

The best information about the American Serama can be found on the SCNA website ( http://www.scnaonline.org/ ). Enjoy your birds and your new babies regardless of their breed! If you are interested in Serama, there are lots of folks who would be happy to lead you in the right direction.

The body type, size, Seramas are NOT dubbed. Serama roos should be shaped in a v, hens a u. See the pics from Grdy's PET quality and compare, I believe you'll see the difference. OEGBs are fun too!!

NPIP are ususlly thin aluminum bands. I have seen thick colored aluminum bands on some of his birds, they are used to keep records as to who is who. They also may be SCNA bands, if so they are registered with Serama Counsil of North America with his name and the year they were hatched. I personally would leave them, but they are your birds, you can do as you wish.

My birds aren't that good but here's my serama roo and one of my Mille Fleur OEGB roos (undubbed) I used to have.

Ah, okay. I think they did have scna on them. I would have to look again. I hope not to have to get rid of them but I guess it won't hurt to leave them on. Thanks!

Amy is extremely knowledgeable and I'm sure you will learn a lot and enjoy meeting with her. I had the privilege of meeting her in person only a few weeks ago and she is just great. Will be spending time with her at the CC as well next month.

If your birds from Grady had leg bands, more than likely they are SCNA band as the vast majority of his birds have these and very few the others. I recommend you keep the bands on to identify the origin of your birds. A "Grady Taylor" serama is no ordinary run-of-the-mill serama and something to be proud of!
