Hello! I have a (kind of) weird question. Does anyone know about artificially inseminating seramas? I'm just curious, I'm not going to run to the store to purchase a turkey baster or anything like that, but I've heard quite a few fertility tricks going on and - like I said - I'm curious! How many people do this? And is it specifically for goals of breeding A's and micros? Or do the B's have fertility issues too? Some people pluck their chickens behinds to make sure they can do the deed.
The reason I'm asking is 'cause I watched an episode of Dirty Jobs where Mike Rowe was artificially inseminating turkeys, so when I read through someone's breeding program about seramas I was amazed. I guess I figured that class A seramas shouldn't be kept as breeders. I don't know too much I guess.
I know that it's rare to get a viable egg out of super tiny birds, but if one had a super tiny male... Y'know? Turkey baster time? Thanks, guys!
