I was watching my four year old son play with our seramas today. Our little hen jumped into his arms demanding attention. He is SO sweet with them! Our roo got jealous and had to jump onto his lap too. They preened themselves and swished their tails around in unison and my son laughed so hard! They're such a joy to have in our lives. He's so gentle with the hen and picks her up like she's made of glass. She's patient and understanding with him. I'm seriously considering getting him into 4-H. He's almost five, but it's never too early to find a hobby. He sincerely believes that they're his chickens. Too cute!

My girls started 4H this year, my oldest was 8, and my youngest was almost 6. They LOVE it.

I've been busy enjoying Grandkids this week, my Granddaughter Brianna Loves the chickens! I even had some Araucana chicks hatch the day after they got here from Maryland so they could see where chickens come from

My daughter in law was as impressed as the kids were! She's definitely a city girl but I think if they were able to have chickens, they would be taking some chicks home with them. They live on a Naval base so it's not happening but she says "someday".....

If anyone is needing a rooster, I have a young cockerel that I will be posting for sale. He's the one I posted photo's of earlier and he's definitely a lil guy but more roosters than I need right now. Anyone interested can PM me for current photo's and information and I'll weigh him tomorrow. He will be very reasonable as far as price.
Here's a pic I posted a while back. He's got a real nice upright posture and plenty of leg but lots more maturing to do so he may get a lot nicer and will certainly color out more.

When they're old enough, the frizzled chicks will be for sale too. I'm be advertising them all on craigslist locally for pick up so PM me if you're interested and I'll hold them till they can be shipped. There is a black chick and 2 chipmunk striped. I'd like to keep them to see how they mature but they won't fit in to my bigger plan so they really need to go to someone who can use them. The black one is larger than the other 2 so it will be sold as pet quality but the other 2 are quite small. I'll weigh them for anyone interested, take new pics and all if requested.
