Nice boy ya have there HenThymes!!!! I love his color and the laced on his breast, I was searching for that same color pattern but could not find any so I settle for a laced cocoapop silver duckwing from Jerry S. in LA. Just out of curiousity, who ya got him from? Here is a pic of my boy at 11 months old.

My chicks have been nice and small but my smallest hen is finally producing hatchable eggs, at least one. I set it under my other hen with 2 others after numerous failed attempts. I was told since she's smaller that she might need to be older and I hope this is true. Here is her 4 day old chick with a 2 week old chick from my other hen and this is one of the smaller of that hatch. Makes the other chick look big but he's not, the little fella is just tiny.

The photo was snapped in the aquarium I use for a brooder until they start feathering out and go to the other brooder. I didn't want him to grow up alone so I paired him with this chick and they are great together. Sorry about the poor quality pic, I just wanted to show the size difference.

Hey Smoothmule, I got my boy from Jerry S. in LA, the same Jerry you got your serama from. This is my first yr with serama so i am not sure on the genetical make up of this color. Your best bet is to contact Jerry for the genetic make up of this color. He sold me this roos with a hen with silver ginger/cocoapop gene in her. I am currently looking for a very typey with hard and fluffy feathers hen for my cocoapop project; the pair I got from him have soft and fine feathers which make me think that if I bred him to a hard feathers hen it will help hide the long back. My main goal is to shorten up the back for this color, I have read some where that rooster give the color and hen give the type to their offspring. Below is a pic of him stand tall guarding his woman. By the way, love the look of your chickies.

Smoothmule the therory is that the "cocopop" is patterns with the Chocolate gene, there are lots of them around, just isolating the color and breeding experiments that will take a long time to see if it breeds like chocolate that about 200+ bird breeders are looking for, JP guard your bird, there are lots of hungry wolves drooling over him

Thanks Heather08, Jerry "the god father of serama" told me the same thing too. He said " he has back order from oegb breeders on this color". I will also want to experiment on X my boy with a good type sport fawn oegb hen to create my cocoapop oegb line after I clamp down my serama project.

He is more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. I wish I was a photographer, these pictures just do him no justice but it's what I got for the moment. Today he is just settling in getting used to me and his new surroundings. Can't wait to start working with him.
