Here are the 8 babies (of 9 eggs set) we hatched last week

That is a Black Copper Marans chick with them

They are a day older than the BCM chick. We feed a Game Bird Starter unmedicated crumble (28%).

I am totally with you on this one! I get so excited when someone posts I cant wait to read it. lol. Yes I do need a real life. lol. I am also with you on getting a hen that a normal person can afford. lol.

Does anyone no how to sex serama??? I have a one month chick and I have noooooooooo clue!!
Since it is my first and only serama chick I have no others to even compair it to so that is no help.
I have some in the bator and hopefully this time get more than 1 to hatch and as they grow together
maybe it will be easier to tell but as of now I am lost!! LOL!!!

One month is a bit early. Some cockerels are early bloomers and you can identify them after a couple of weeks, but usually it takes 5 or 6 weeks to start guessing and another 2 or 3 weeks to be sure. Do you have a picture?

I am going to try and take some tomorrow when I get home from work and then i will post to see if yall no.

I hear ya, hard to tell! I'm thinking this may be a pair, but I'm not putting money on it. The lighter one is a week older. The dark one has a hatchmate that is a pullet for sure, compared to these two. Not too worried if the light one is a roo, because I believe I see chocolate coloring developing!

True Chocolate? How do you know if they're chocolate? How does the chocolate's color develop? What color are the parents? I've been trying so hard to find chocolate Serama's to see what they look like, I sort of, kind of understand the genetics of the color but I've seen some that didn't look chocolate at all or what I would expect it to look like. Do you have some chick down pics?

SMoothmule , there is ALOT of chocolate in seramas, its jsut that they are mixed with multiple patterns with chocolate. I had a tough time finding it at first but recently Ive come across ALOT of it, its out there
