So to those with Serama experience, is this just Micro or dwarfism??? These two are full siblings from the same hatch of average size C parents. If I have my date right they are somewhere around 2 to 2-1/2 months old. For the longest time I thought the little one was just a petite pullet and just going to be smaller but the other the day clearly realized that is it an extra small cockerel. Can someone explain, any advise??

This is a first for me of any of my hatches.

Notice that the bigger one is kneeling and the small one is standing..

P.S. I have three week olds that are almost as big as he is.

I'm guessing wing carriage estimates come to one in time? I noticed that when "Blue" is upset he'll stand straight up with his wings downward, but he's young and not impressive like the drawing guides. I should find a way to get pictures with my phone sometime tomorrow...
He also seems to be on the rather small side, we're currently hoping he'll be able to *cough* perform with the ladies if/when the time comes.

She is just beautiful! I just purchased a trio of Seramas at Ohio Nationals for my son and we love them! He would really love your blue, I will have to show him the pictures when he gets home from school. He has some new blue OEGB's that he is spoiling rotten along with his new Seramas!

I for one CANT WAIT for the seramas to be APA recognized. I have a certain family that really needs it rubbed in their faces! They have always trash talked my sons birds because in their opinion they are just mutts.

Are you kidding me? Mutts? Well, I for one hope they get recognized just for you and your son! Then your son can beat them and get best bantam overall or best of show and go HA HA HA right in their faces!

Okay, so maybe that's bad sportsmanship coming from a 4H advisor but you know what, all the drama gets tiring doesn't it! Lol!

I have a question about size. I started out with 4 birds 3 years ago, 2 pairs. Out of the 2 pairs I still have both roosters and a hen. The hens were both B class birds, the roosters were both c's for over a year. Now they are all D's!!! Their offspring I kept back to see how they'd finish out... D's before they even reach 6 months old. Bernie the biggest boy weighs in at 24.5 oz

He is known for producing very small typey hens, ebony for example was one of his daughters. Whitey the other rooster is a looker! He was always smaller then bernie. I got him 2 nice small hens last winter right after xmas, those girls are staying nice and small. I hatched 1 bath of chicks from that trio this past summer and kept back 1 cockerel. Casper is now 19.2 oz and is starting to look like he inherited his fathers type. I feel like I am going backwards here! They all started out nice and small and typey and suddenly after they are a few years old they get huge? Out of 16 seramas I have here 8 of them are D class birds... the others range from A-C This is what ya go thru starting from the bottom up buying what ya can local at decent prices. I expected to make more progress then this by this time. Truthfully I would have been better off getting nice stock from Jerry or someone else, what I have put into them so far I could have had a handful of really nice birds to start out with. I have to say tho it has been a worth while learning experince for me and I am greatful for that.

We have gotten C's out of A's that when they hatched I couldn't believe the little bugger fit in the A sized egg. I have also had the large chicks in a hatch turn out to be the smallest of the bunch. That's one cool thing about Serama's, its like getting a surprise chick shipment!!!

Hey Everyone! I just wanted to post some pictures of the Seramas I got this past weekend for my son and I. I think they are beautiful but I would love everyone's opinions on them! I am always open for constructive criticism and I am new to Seramas, well, chickens overall really. We have had our OEGB's for a little over a year and we love them too!
