OMG That is the sweetest picture!!! I love it, my chicks like to be around us, and on us, but never just laid back like that!!! I so want one like him!

I'm with Zoo Mummzy, you can't spoil them too much. I am sitting here at the PC with one serama on my shoulder and one in front of me. We are together every evening for "quality time" with the kids.

Seramas are so cute! How could a chicken be so tiny like that? I love it when the roos puff up their chests with pride, I saw pics when they did that and laughed. If I could, I'd like to have one.

The fighting will not be as bad if you cage them together without the pullet....other wise the fight for dominance will ruin their comb and its harder for you to sell them or you will lose points if you decide to show em. I usually cage the cockerels with most potential in a separate cage from the rest. At one time, I ran out of cage when I hatched this batch and as you can see this cockerel's comb got ruin in the fight for dominance of the group.

Luckily, it did not turn out as bad as I thought it might be. If you have to choose between the two, keep the one with shorter back and slope wings.

Finally got some Serama eggs today.

Im picky if they seem like they are buying them for novelty, or Im worried about the bird's welfare. Mostly people that buy from me are chicken enthusiasts, and I have the best customers ever.

I love getting updates and staying in touch with everyone and see how their line of birds are coming along. Its really neat now to see how fast the frizzled birds got around!

What I really try to do is give specifics about Serama care ....and also Serama type. I also try to educate the buyer if I can about what makes Serama different and special, and how to understand the difference between a Serama and another small chicken. I hope this will save them trouble in the future while they are buying birds to increase thier flock. I sometimes suggest other breeders if I know what the buyer is looking for, or what area they are in. I tell them to come here to BYC, and go to the SCNA site and become a member and learn all they can, and look at birds from top breeders and show winners to develop an "eye" for type. I try to teach them about type, care, and I try to be available to answer any questions that might pop up later.
I think that most people that contact me have some idea what a serama is, but I too, am wary about selling to people who dont know what they are. When I sell cull birds that dont make the cut, I sell them as tiny cute bantam pet chickens, and do not mention the word Serama, I dont sell culls like that to people who are looking for Serama to breed. If I wouldnt breed it, I dont want people saying--"OH I have one of those Sir Yama things! Want some chicks?"

Thanks for the advise! With 4 kids and all my other projects I don't have room for another cage unfortunately!!! Can you answer me this though...You said keep the one with the shorter back and sloped wings, to my new and untrained eye that is the creme colored one, but I may not understand how to judge this. If you go back and look at the 2 pics, which one do you think is the better of the 2?

I really appreciate all the feedback on my 2 guys, I am so new to this that I am still learning how to judge them!
