Hey I have a birthday coming up in like 2 weeks. Anyone have some pullets for sale? For a reasonable price? I have two boys that will be starting to feel some oath soon and may need a second girl for each of them so they don't bug the ones their with now to death. Boys...

XD

I'm pretty much the same way....except for the turning...unless I have a staggered hatch. If I don't, then I just stop turning on Day 18. Interesting about the humidity though. What do you incubate at? I used the air sac development method this last time and it worked really well.

The Genesis 1588 is preset for temperature, so I never even check it. The room is maintained near 72 degrees. I keep water in the 2 outside troughs and the vents wide open....that usually runs 50-60% (probably closer to 60%?).

You do have to check the 1588, just because it is preset does not mean it is right. Mine ran about 1 to 1 1/2 degrees low when I first got it and I had to adjust it, now it's running about 1/2 degree high.

Agreed. I had to do the reset on all three of mine when I got them, but once they were set they were set.

I never 'lockdown'....I open the incubator everyday to hand turn eggs, add eggs or water or take out chicks...I incubate and hatch in the same incubator and don't change humidity...I have 2 Genesis 1588 going non-stop and have hatched about 200 Serama this year....but that's just me....

Junebug, I want to come work for you! Man I would be in heaven with all those fuzzy-butts!

I did check them in the beginning. I've been running both these incubators for 2 years non-stop (stopping only long enough to clean once in a while)...chicks keep hatching...I don't think I'll change anything. I do have a spare incubator in storage...I do expect one of these incubators to die eventually...???

Also....the incubators keep check on each other....if I have eggs in both incubators due to hatch on the same day, and one incubator hatches earlier or later, I would know to check them.

Any serama breeders close to Georgetown Kentucky? My hubby is going to be there this weekend. So if anyone in the area has any for sale I might be interested!
