Well I have a barred rooster and he turned out pretty nice. I don't know anything about genetics but barred must be very very dominant cause he sure throws barred chicks. Unfortunately I have had him with a very small Serama hen who must be infertile and a mixed Araucana/Serama hen who is very fertile.

I now have moved him so that he has some different SErama hens. But i got 3 tiny little barred chicks and they all died. So I am still playing mix/match here to find the best birds that I have. No, I didn't have him for sale, was curious as to what you wanted.

Thought I had a line on adding several Serama here but seem to have trouble making contact with the selling party. Still hoping though, she has nice birds.

Thanks for the advice ruthless. I might take what you said and post some pictures later.

For a rooster, I am looking for possibly a pure white, lemon blue, cocoapop, chocolate, or black.

I think the barred look nice, but for some reason they aren't my cup of tea. I don't even have a barred bird in my egg laying flock. I already have wheaten roosters, so I was looking for something of a different color. Size wise, either a class b or c, no d's or a's. Quality wise, probably medium quality on up to show quality.
I know my demands are kind of high, but if there is a picture of the rooster you are willing to sell, that could change my mind.

Tim Hopkins is selling Some white roosters for 50 dollars plus shipping Bs and show quality I would but I have no white hens. Ill give you his number if you want it.

Does he have a website or email?

Just phone number or name on SCNA

X2 IMHO, a few people on this thread are just a big turn off for the rest of us and new serama owners. That is why I barely post anything on here anymore. I can't believe how rude and stuck up some of these people are being. Like you said ZooMummzy, I would like it to where we can all just enjoy each other's birds even though we all have different qualities of them. Even though I love seeing the good quality and the not so good quality birds here on this thread, they are all considered seramas or else people wouldn't post on here. I am starting to think that it would almost be better to have two separate serama threads (one for the "show, top dog" quality and one for the common serama owners). It is just starting to get too hostile on here.

I agree I think 2 threads would work better I have good serames and I have bad ones and i would still like to show my bad ones that I dont breed becauseI love their colors but I would never post them on this thread.

I have to tell you that I have been thinking the same thing. I used to be subscribed to this thread but I'm not anymore due to the negativity, snobbishness and other things that just make me go "ugh". There are a few people I follow on this thread and I love seeing all the new babies, hearing about and seeing the excitement people have for their new birds so I check in from time to time. More often since quite a few people from the thread are hatching my babies. I do believe the thread was started to show off a person's new Seramas but it has turned into this mini show place where a lot of people feel the need to outdo the other person by name dropping and honesty just being plain uppity about their birds. It's really ugly. I think we can all appreciate the top quality birds people have purchased or hatched. We drool over them and congratulate their good fortune. Personally, I've spent the most money I can on my birds and tried to get the best quality I could so I could share their offspring with anyone who loves the breed - show quality or not - and at the same time add to my little flock of Seramas. I have done my best to keep the standards in my lines but even nonstandard Seramas are awesome! I'm fascinated by all the breeding projects and seeing what birds people can get from this combination and that and totally respect what they are doing...however, I don't think the rest of us should be put down or made to feel less of a Serama owner because we don't have the same ambitions. It is hard for newbies to the breed...or oldies...who want a place to show off their birds to jump into this thread. It's way too intimidating and it really shouldn't be. I'm all up for starting a new thread....BUT have to agree with ruth too...ignoring rude people is usually the best. We've all enjoyed this thread for quite awhile now, many people longer than I have, and I've never run away from anything in my life, lol not going to start now. I will continue to post photos of all my babies whenever I feel like it

And anyone who wants to see more of them can click on my link in my signature line. I'm still adding photos and always updating the happenings in my Serama world!

Bobby-love the white chick. I have had a few chicks that where so white as chicks that I thought for sure they would stay white....now they are turning brown. Good Luck and let me know your secret if it stays white. i even had one that was seriously neon yellow. You almost needed sunglasses to look at it. I thouhgt that maybe my coop my had been over a once uranium mine!! It is defiately mellowing out....maybe I should name it mellow yellow!

I posted on here awhile back with my pet serama named Squeak. He has faults like creeper gene and white earlobes as well as lack of conformation. I love him dearly but will not use him for improving the serama breed.

Recently I purchased eggs from Jerry in an auction. I posted the pics. here and mentioned I got from the best. I know there are several here with mixed feelings but come on we all got our start from him! Besides he has the time and money to improve the breed above what any of us have. Give him the credit due. I am not kissing butt here but you all got your starts from him...

I will be selling my excess hatchlings this fall. I only want to concentrate on the barred. So far it has been difficult to see any good ones on here except for the barred roo austinhart had purchased from Jerry.

I recently purchased a 2 yr. old barred hen from a SCNA member and she weighs only 10.5 oz. and I have 5 eggs of hers in incubator. She had been with a black roo that came from Grady. oops sorry to be name dropping there but come on we all know who the good ones are!

I think LAseramas is dealing from the best even tho he might brag a bit much for you alls.
