Male button quail aggression

Hey anyone know why my male button quail just took a turn for the worse?? He does not bother his mate and he used to be very friendly with me. He would sometimes if he was in the mood let me touch him. Now I do anything like try and refill food, water or there sand bowl and he attempts to bite me and just flips out and hates it. :I


Anyway at least my silver coturnix is a cuddle bird.

How old is he ? Any chance that he is reaching sexual maturity ? Teenage poultry males can be difficult.

He is about a year old now. Yep I think you are right. I notice even he will attempt to sit on the eggs and protect them.
