Male? Female?

I ordered two "pick of the hatchery" ducks on my August 5th duckling order. I recieved a buff and a black swedish. What do you think they are? Male? Or female? The black swedish is very loud, it honks all the time.

Very loud is female... boys become more of a soft whisper.

The one with the curly tail and head still turning dark in the background is a drake. Females don't get the curly tail.

Most likely a female if it’s “honking” males are usually quiet my blue swedish boy try’s to make noise but it’s more of a raspy whisper lol

Boys are quiet, girlies are a bit of a loud mouth. Males also get a distinct curled tail feather

Yes the curly tail drake in the background is the only duck I have left from when I first got ducks. It's been a really rough learning curve. I started with 4 ducks. But we got all the kinks worked out and took care of the predators!

Sorry for your losses, predators stink.

If they aren't all the same age as the drake... I would only be able to go by voice since I feel like the curl can develop what seem a bit later than the stated age... if I remember mine correctly.
