Male or female?? No eggs.....

Hello!

The two smaller ones look like girls to me, especially if they are the same cross and SO much smaller. They are more refined looking too, longer thiner necks....more petite in general. I would say give them time, as said it looks like you have a proper trio on your hands!

I will try and get better pics today. They are all African/Toulouse cross, I just think the larger one ended up with more Toulouse and the smaller more African. You see, in Africans, the larger the knob on the beak, the more likely a male, and if you go by THAT, then the two smaller are males and the larger a female.

Puts a twists on it, eh?

I've never kept African Geese or mixes - but for what it's worth - I think it looks like a Gander and two Geese. Maybe they didn't breed this year because it has been such a WEIRD year?!
They sure are neat looking geese - whatever they end up being. I sure would have a hard time sending them to that great goose pen in the sky...

Why is it any harder or easier to butcher chickens than geese?

I haven't butchered chickens in years...I could though. Geese....not so easy. To me, they are more emotional and a tick smarter than your AVERAGE chicken. (I know there are some really, really smart chickens out there.)
