IMG_1553.JPG IMG_1554.JPG IMG_1556.JPG IMG_1559.JPG IMG_1560.JPG IMG_1561.JPG I have some new chix and I know a cpl are males but can't really tell on one of the breeds. The brown ones are already crowing but the large red one I don't think is yet. I just noticed a larger comb and neck dangle.

The neck dangle is called "wattles,". How old is the red one?
This - age is very important in assessing gender since all that can be see of the bird in question is the head/neck. This developed/red comb and wattle on a bird under 16 weeks is an entirely different issue than on a bird over that age -- the hackle feathers that are visible are not that of a male. A full body shot of the bird would allow for assessing the rest of the bird and a look for things like saddle feathers, tail feathering, body type, etc.
