Male or female?

Cockerel! Look at the red splotch on the wing. And yeah, right on time for crowing.

Omg! The sounds he is making trying to learn! It's adorable!!!

Do you know, will he get bigger? It's an EE but I didn't see the parents so not sure on the mix of breeds.

Thanks for chiming in!! I'm so new, but learning every day!

Mine is 6 weeks old. Can you guess the sex since it's solid white? This one has me stumped.

You'll get more responses by starting your own thread. But, I'll say that's a male by its overall appearance. Bare wing bows at this stage, relatively thick legs, rather pink in the comb. Alone, none of these is 100% but when you see all on the same chick, it's likely a cockerel.

If the wing bows come in splotched in red, it's 100% male.

No red coming in. Put the feathers around it's neck has turned cream colored. Everything is white except the neck. The comb is still the same size and color. It hasn't gotten bigger or anything.

Yep, creamy neck feathers showed before the splotches of red on my white cockerel chick... He ended up with a yellow neck and saddles and red wing patches, a bit of black bleed in the tail. Someone here called the pattern Golden Red Pyle.

Golden Red Pyle..hmm. That might explain the crow I heard the other day. Is there still hope? Another question. His/her father has no red on him at all, but it's mother is a Red Sex Link so that might explain the red.

Love the new crowing sounds. Hope you didn't end up with too many roosters. :/
