Male Pekin Behavior Question.

Does she kind of honk loudly? My female honks up a storm. The male duck has a more uniform one-pitch "mwack mwack mwack" sound. Somewhere on here I posted a video of my female duck quacking when I was trying to be sure she was actually female...

My Pekins do the same thing. I have a male and a female..It is a mating ritual I believe, yes he is doing the hey baby get on in there the water is fine. Mine love to mate in the water, especially as soon as you put fresh in there, it so defeats the purpose.

I love it when I throw treats out there and he will let her eat first, and then sometimes if she don't pick the food up fast enough, he will pick it up and hold it until she is done and then hand it to her.

That is what a good drake does...make sure his girl is well fed and happy

My drake does that too. He lets her eat all the treats first, and he always lets her get into the water. Only one can fit at a time because they grew huge and I haven't been able to get a pool yet. So he stands by and bobs his head at her while she plays in the water.
