Yes it mostly seems to happen in the pond. Geez. What does someone do about that??

My girls honked and chattered and made all kinds of noise I never would have called a real “quack”. I thought the different sounding one was a boy until I found this video. The second or third one they pick up sounds like he’s hissing almost. They definitely didn’t make that noise. See if this helps (there’s a long into, I think the 2 or 3 minute mark they start picking each duck up is where they sex them)

Volume is a good indicator - if its so loud your ears might bleed, its a girl.

If its the sort of whispery volume you would get at the movies or at church while something else is going on, its a boy.

Excellent point. If you can hear them demanding breakfast clear across the property in the morning, they're girls. Lol. Males are like half the volume.
