Male pheasant has plucked feathers out of the back of my female.

My wife went and picked up a pair of Red Golden Pheasants for me this morning. I just got home from work an went to look and the male has plucked a spot of feathers off the females back. Any ideas or should I separate them. They were fine at the store but now she is bad. They are in a small cage but will
Be transferred on Monday to their new cage. It's the same size as the cage at store with no problems. Should I seperate is this normal or will he kill her. Please help she seems fine just battered on back.

Could be stress from just being moved but you should keep an eye on them ! I have had plenty of plucked feathers ! Redgolden1

Thanks we separated them in 2 cages set next to each other until pen in finished on Tuesday. Thank you
