male to female ratio on corturnix quail

Is a (1:3) male female ratio good or could i go with (1:4)????

1 to 4 is better
1 to 5 is better still
1 to 6 is doable but your fertility starts to drop a tad bit.

I HAVE 1;6 and the fertility is still good.
I might get 1 non-fertile egg in 40.

ok that is cool i havnt started hatching out any yet i got one male wild color and three female and two A&M that idk if they are male or female. I still have to get an incubator just trying to get as much info as possible. i also got som bobwhite but i read that u might need a permit to raise those in arkansas. i have never had an incubator just really got into it with chickens so i want to raise quail and chickens thx for all info i love this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also i just got my corturnix and i never see them mating so how do i know when they start do they need to get use to eachother i should be getting a couple more female this weekend and another male???

i just got my chickens about two months ago the first birds i ever had and im only 21 so i am really new to this but i love it i really love my animals thxs so much everyone.
