malformation of chick ?

Hi I am happy hatching some banty eggs and an egg didn't hatch so I cracked it open .. I was confused at first.. but fig out the blob im my hand after a gew seconds every thing looked formed but its head/brian was connected to the opening where yoke sack should be absorbed? Have you ever had this before?

I have had a few chicks form without the top of the skull (of course they also didn't hatch, this was after opening the egg up?).
