Through no fault of my own, (well, some of the fault lies with me, but really... ) I've acquired 5 mallard drakes and one mallard hen. I realize this is NOT a good situation. And it isn't. Is there anyone, anyone out there who would take a mallard drake or two or three or four off my hands? I'm located in isolated NW Colorado, but to give these drakes a good home, I am willing to drive to Denver, CO Springs, whatever. I am a poultry wimp, so I can't bring myself to wring their necks and have duck l'orange for supper. These are hatchery mallards, I've clipped their wings (gently) so they are safe with the chickens for winter. I need to find them homes asap. They were born in late July. Gorgeous. Not particularly tame--they talk to me, and come (mostly) when I call, but they are definitely not lap-ducks.

Can anyone please please please help????

Thanks,

Sharon

Get rid of the hen not the drakes unless you want them to breed. You can never have more males than females so either get rid of all but one of the drakes of the one hen.
