I am new to ducks, in the middle of a big learning curve
I have a duck that looks like a Mallard but came to me with a family of Muscovy's. He is big with thick legs and mates with the Muscovy's and now some of the Muscovy ducklings have short tails. Could he be a fertile Moulard ?
Thanks.

Sorry I don't know much about ducks. You can post your questions on the "Duck forum."
Just go the the forms at top of this page, and scroll down to Ducks. They should be able to answer you. Welcome to Backyard Chickens.

Hi, it's nice to have you here with us!

I don't think they do cross. The Muscovy is a goose and the Mallard is a duck.
Uh, that's not true. Muscovy is a duck just not derived from the mallard breed like every other domestic duck. Muscovy is more like a wood duck. Though some think it has characteristics of a goose it is not a goose.
The muscovy mallard cross produces sterile offspring.

Maybe you have a Rouen. They are a bigger version of the mallard duck.
Do you have a pic? That would help to see if he is actually a cross or something else.
There is a very slim chance for a moulard to be fertile.
