MALLARD THREAD...not rouens, Mallards!

There are numerous number of mallard colors the hard thing to do is to find pure bred mallards. If you ever find other colors of mallards YOU have to ask for proof of Lineage and probably some genetic test done showing that the mallards are pure. These collections can costs hundreds to thousands of dollars ( anything less than $100 is probably a mixed breed )

For instance I have melanistic mallards ( which is a mallard that looks to be all black) they are 100% pure bred I have both proof of lineage and genetic test done,

Wow that's expensive! Just for a duck, man. That's really cool do you have any pictures?

Quote: I have plenty, they are all already posted on here before, and yes for a duck colored mallards that are pure bred go for alot of money in europe, melanistic mallards like mine go for about $1000 in belgium.

These are my babies born in late may of this year, 2 melanistic and 2 normal patterned

This is my original melanistic mallard and the mother of all of the ones i have so far.

(same picture as the one above just getting a better angle, The black mallard in this picture is actually standing with an aunt)
(Same black mallard as the picture above just showing her normal patterned sister with her)

These birds are the other melanistic children and their regular patterned siblings of different generations.

They will always be mixed breed in a genetic test it will show up for many decades( we are talking close to 100 years here ) before it shows the bird is then pure bred
Yeah, I know. Genetic purity isn't a huge deal to me, and it will only take a few generations until they look exactly like mallards. I'm not planning on showing them or anything, I just love different colors of mallards.

Interesting. I don't care if they are chubby

. Okay!
Haha, and maybe they won't be chubby, ducks generally take the body shape of their mother over their father, but I'm sure they will still be bigger than mallards.
