With warm weather the momma is more than happy to take her babies out. Makes me nervous! BUT, VERY cute.

Hope you enjoyed them. I'm amazed she is willing to take them out soooo young.

How adorable!!! A mama chicken with her babies has to be one of the cutest things on the face of the earth!

Our mama took her three babies out for forage training just one day after we slipped them under her. They are now 2 1/2 weeks old and foraging all over the yard with her for a majority of the day. It is sure a lot easier letting a mama raise them than it is raising them in a brooder. I have eight 7-10 week olds that are still in the house during the night and in the enclosed run during the day. I am so ready for them to free range but don't trust them to come into the run/coop by themselves plus don't trust our older flock of 7 hens. Mama and her babies free range with the older ones and no one messes with the babies or they get jumped on by Precious. She teaches them, protects them, and integrates them into the flock! It is so much easier!
