That is some water bottle! I've never used, actually never seen one. I'm imagining the old rubber things that I can't imagine would keep water warm for more than a half hour or so.

ewwww??
I live off grid, so I couldn't use the heating pad consistently, so I'm using a woolly hen and a hot water bottle, but I've learned a lot from your post @Blooie. Thank you so much for everything you do!![]()
I change their "diapers" (paper towels) regularly and I've never understood that whole chick dander thing. We had a couple of pasty butt issues so I kept them in another day, then yesterday we were going to DW's mother and dad's for MIL's 85th and had a lot of prep (cake and egg nog) to do. Today is rainy dreary and all of about 35°F and I'm depressed because I found Eos dead in the barn this morning. I think a case of ruptured liver. So I'll take them out tomorrow when I'll feel more like hanging out with the kids and see if MAYBE Anais will be interested in raising them.Yes, Ewwww.....I couldn't stand having them in the house let alone in the bedroom right at the foot of my bed. You're a more loving soul than I am!

Ah, so sorry. I had a similar looking bird, amberlink/EE cross laid olive, tons of egg that bird laid, she didn't make it to 3 either. Now my avatar. Not quite 3 year old EE, she laid blue. Very nice bird with a sweet voice.
