Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE

For you experienced folks, these chicks are eating constantly. Their little crops feel hard. Should I take the food out for a while? Also, I started a thread in the Emergency section. I have one Brahma chick that has flipped on her back 3 times today, and had to be rescued. She is otherwise eating and drinking and running around like all the rest. Any thoughts? I'm such a noob at baby chicks. Thanks!

Their crops get huge and hard as a rock....you could take the food away and make sure the crops go down overnight.
Are they drinking OK?
You'll get used to it all....can be alarming until you do tho.

What kinds of heating pad do people use for this? The whole Mama Heating Pad concept has interested me for a long time, and with spring coming along in a few months I think it would be wise to get a head start before hatching or buying anything
