Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE

I know how that feels! I ordered mine in like August or September and then had to wait for them to hatch lol but yes, you will have birds to talk about soon enough!

And thank you so much!! I think they are too

And LOL thanks! Her sister has like the only creative name, Diva, because one time they were all dust bathing and they all eventually, slowly, got up one by one, but Diva stayed laying there, and all sprawled out in the dirt, and just would not stop bathing. Like a diva :p until her sister ran right over her LOL

You can sort of see Diva in these pictures. She's the whitish one. She looks the same as Bunny except she's white instead of orange and Bunny's lacing is a little bit lighter.

The other chickens are Blackie and Beauty for the movie Black Beauty and then the 3 Orpingtons are Amber, Angel, and Penny. I think Beauty is the Australorp in the picture.

I am so creative :lau
Haha I love the names!! Diva has very pretty coloration! I feel like I'm going to have a hard time coming up with just 12 names

Haha thank you! And thanks, I think she does too! She looks horrible right now because she is molting and missing her tail but she's normally beautiful lol

And haha don't worry, they'll come to you!

May was named at like 2 weeks lol and the others weren't names for a long time. Diva and Bunny were named sometime after they moved outside around 7 weeks or after that.

The Orpingtons and Australorps only got their names like over the summer LOL

I couldn't tell them apart for a very long time but then I was able to so they got names. I actually had names for the Orpingtons earlier in the summer then they lost the identifying feathers so they lost the names then I renamed them LOL Amber and Penny were original names but I forget the third, maybe honey? But I like Angel better. Although, even though the names are original, I might have assigned them to a different chicken since I couldn't tell them apart anymore LOL

But anyway, point being, even if you don't come up with names right away as chicks, they will eventually earn their names :)

True. I really want to try to name most of them based off their personalities, but idk I'll just see what happens and go from there :highfive: :cd

I think that's a good plan!

It's been a long time since I have posted on this thread. I'm already looking forward to getting a few more chicks this year. I had such a great experience last year with this method. It will be even more fun doing it again with experience under my belt!!
